This page contains answers to frequently asked questions about the process of coaching and about the logistics of working with me as a coach.

The Process of Coaching

What is a coach?

A coach is your professional partner whose aim is to support you in envisioning your best life and identifying specific steps to get you there. Knowing you’ve already had successes in many areas of your life, a coach can help you to capitalize on your previous successes to reach future goals. This collaboration provides a structure for you to stretch yourself as much as you dare.

Why work with a coach?
You don’t have to go it alone—in fact, your chances of success are better with the right support and tools. Clients who work with a coach report increased insights, creativity and resourcefulness. They also improve well-being and feel more hopeful (Grant, 2003, 2006).

What is special about your coaching approach?
As a client, you get the benefit of my years of experience as a coach and artist as well as my formal training as a coach. My style of coaching draws on both my intuition and a foundation of research on the science of change, particularly the science of changing our minds. Our mind, both consciously and unconsciously, guides the majority of our actions, responses and decisions, so my programs are designed to create a shift for you on conscious and unconscious levels. I incorporate tools such as guided meditations for engaging the wisdom of your unconscious and conscious mind in our sessions.

Program Logistics

Do you work with people outside the Seattle area?
I primarily work with clients over the phone, so I can easily accommodate clients all over the world. For clients outside the United States, I offer coaching sessions over Skype.

How long and how often are the sessions?
Regular coaching sessions occur weekly and are 60 minutes long. All of my coaching packages include longer kickoff (2 hour) and wrap-up (1 hour) sessions. Depending on the program, there are sometimes other specialized sessions of 1-2 hours.

What are your rates?
I work with a limited number of individual clients at a time. Out of respect for your time and mine, I want to be sure I’m the best fit for you by having an initial conversation about your specific situation before inviting you to work with me for a full program.
